Arcadia and the South County forests turn in the third week of October;

the Scituate Reservoir and the Blackstone Valley follow toward the end of the month;

the bay shore at Colt State Park, Beavertail and Newport finishes in the last days of October.

Red maple and oak dominate, with hickory and birch for gold.

The water keeps the coast a few days behind the interior.
